New Orthodox Church Opened at Inaglinskiy Coal Complex

Roman, the Archbishop of Yakutsk and the Lena paid an official church visit to the Inaglinskiy and Denisovskiy Coal Complexes.

His Eminence performed the ceremony of great consecration of the church named in honour of St. Sergius of Radonezh and the first Communion Service. The church of St. Sergius is located on the territory of the Inaglinskiy Coal Complex. It was erected at the initiative of Kolmar employees. They made voluntary donations and all the enterprises, contractors and subcontractors that are building the Complex’ facilities worked for free.

The wooden church housing up to 100 people now adorns the Coal Complex administrative centre and is within walking distance of the coal preparation plant. Representatives of the Republic and District’s executive authorities, numerous honoured guests, representatives of various district services and agencies, and employees of Kolmar Coal Mining Company headed by the company Chief Operating Officer Artyom Levin attended the divine service of the ceremony of the consecration of the church and the Communion Service. Savva Mikhailov, Deputy Minister for Civil Society Institutions Development conveyed congratulations on the occasion of the consecration of the church on behalf of the Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Yegor Borisov.

The Archbishop presented Artyom Levin with an official church certificate of merit and thanked him for maintaining spiritual traditions and taking care of the company’s employees. «Here, at the Inaglinskiy Coal Complex, industrial coal mining takes place. This unique and laborious process needs special support from Our Lord," His Eminence said. «This divine help and support will be rendered to all the company employees through the great consecration of the church and weekly service.»

On the same day Roman, the Archbishop of Yakutsk and the Lena, sang prayers to Holy Great Martyr St. Barbara in the chapel named after her, located on the Denisovskiy Coal Complex.
