Next year Kolmar plans to start construction of the Denisovksaya Eastern mine

Yakutsk. October 20. INTERFAX — FAR EAST — Kolmar Coal Mining Company has announced that construction of the Denisovskaya Eastern mine and subsequent development at Denisovskiy Coal Processing Complex is scheduled to be started in 2017.

«The construction of the surface facilities at the Denisovskaya Eastern mine should begin as early as next year. The mine will develop four seams with widths ranging from 0.7 to 3.5 m,» the press service of the Neryungri District Administration reported.

The project involves development in two stages: the first aims for 11 years of production in the best possible conditions. Later, the conditions of coal occurrence deteriorate and thus production becomes more complicated.

The projected mine coal production capacity is up to 4 million tons of raw coal per year. Industrial reserves are estimated at 120 million tons.

High-performance imported equipment will be used at the Denisovskaya Eastern mine. The project also envisages the use of existing infrastructure of the Denisovskiy Coal Processing Complex.

The Company is currently preparing environmental impact assessment data regarding the mine’s construction and development stages. It has already held public hearings at the Neryungri District Administration.

Kolmar incorporates coal mining, trading and logistics companies. The Group’s companies hold licenses to develop areas of the Chulmakanskiy and Denisovskiy coal deposits. Balance reserves are over 1 billion tons of coking coal.
